Silverpicker Takes Hollywood Pt. 2

Back to our regular scheduled programming this week.

I’ve got a ton of news, the second video from my excursion to LA, and a pretty cool question from a Redditor that got me thinking.

All that below.

Free Tools Worth Their Weight in Gold

If you’re looking into Gold or precious metals IRAs (and if you’re reading this, you probably are), then check out what Augusta Precious Metals have to say before you make a decision.

Yes, they offer their own IRAs, but they have a ton of free guides and tools to help you make the best decision for you, and avoid scams - sadly there are many out there.

Just take a look at some of these:

In my second video from my recent trip to Los Angeles, I brave the rain(!) to embark on a bank strap searching hunt.

I got 1000 $1 bills from a local Bank of America branch, and sifted through them in search of fancy serial numbers - all for your viewing pleasure.

Check it out here:

This week’s question is from Reddit:

OK. Great question here.

Essentially, there are many different reasons to collect coins. Collecting for value or speculation is one of them, as is doing so for aesthetics or sentimentality.

I actually made a video a while back about the 9 different type of coin collectors - you can check that out here.

But in short:

  1. The Classic Hunter: This collector methodically searches for specific coins to complete their collection, deriving satisfaction from the hunt itself.

  2. The Speculator: Motivated by the potential monetary value of coins, this collector focuses on buying coins they believe will appreciate in worth over time.

  3. The Aesthete: Appreciating coins as works of art, this collector values the beauty of coins and enjoys displaying them.

Wondering what the other 6 are? You’ll just have to check out the video!
